The IP Strategy Summit 2026: Texas

Houston partner Tammy Terry will be participating in Nelson Mullins sponsored event, The IP Strategy Summit 2026: Texas, on March 4 in Houston. The program will offer CLE credit to those that attend.

Alongside her co-panelists, Gilberto Espinoza with Axiom Space, Brian Hinman with Cote Global, and Erik Perez with Shell, Terry will present “Patent Enforcement: Balancing Risk, Value, and Business Impact.” The group will cover how companies are transforming patent enforcement from a reactive legal tactic into a strategic business tool. As budgets tighten and litigation risks increase, in-house counsel must decide which patents to enforce, where to enforce them, and how to do so in a way that protects competitive advantage and aligns with broader business objectives. Panelists will discuss practical approaches to prioritizing patents based on value and risk, selecting effective enforcement venues such as district courts, the ITC, and international jurisdictions, and navigating evolving trends in remedies, settlements, and litigation funding. The session will focus on helping organizations maximize impact while managing cost, risk, and reputational considerations.

Terry is a tenured IP litigator and registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with more than 22 years’ experience as a trial lawyer. Her practice includes IP litigation and dispute resolution representing companies on the cutting edge of technology in a variety of industries and disciplines.

The IP Strategy Summit: Texas convenes senior in-house counsel to explore how the state’s litigation landscape is impacting patent enforcement, trade secret readiness, portfolio valuation, AI ownership considerations, and global brand protection. Designed as a peer-driven, strategy-focused forum, the program emphasizes practical frameworks, real-world tradeoffs, and lessons from active matters, equipping leaders with actionable guidance for IP enforcement, defense, and risk management in 2026.
