Charlotte partner and Encompass member Travis Bustamante will present on the webinar, “Privilege Logging in the Age of GenAI: Mitigating Burdens and Risks,” on September 9. Hosted by UnitedLex, the virtual CLE will reference and expand upon the “Commentary on Privilege Logs from The Sedona Conference Working Group 1.”
Along with his drafting team members from “The Sedona Conference Commentary on Privilege Logs,” Adam Gajadharsingh, discovery counsel with Google, and Meghan A. Podolny, counsel with Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, Bustamante will discuss the latest strategies and tools relevant to responding and requesting parties to help alleviate the burden that often comes with privilege logging. Alongside moderator Aaron Crews, chief product and innovation officer with UnitedLex, the group will also discuss, “strategies to navigate competing interests and burdens and resolve privilege log disputes, the benefits and risks of applying AI to assist in the generation of narrative description, and ethical considerations in light of ABA Formal Opinion 512 on Generative AI tools.”
Bustamante’s litigation practice at Nelson Mullins focuses on electronic discovery, data breach response efforts, and helping companies respond to government investigations and inquiries. He works with clients in state and federal courts on issues of discovery strategy and provides counsel regarding information governance, fact investigations, document review strategies, discovery motions practice, and document productions.
