A Parker C. Fielder Signature Event

Hosted by: The University of Texas

Nelson Mullins partner James D. "Jim" Reardon will be presenting alongside William “Trey” Corenelius of Deloitte Tax LLP (Houston, TX) in a session titled Federal Regulatory Update.

This session will explore the evolving federal regulatory landscape, including:

  • Impacts of the Inflation Reduction Act and the National Environmental Policy Act
  • The Trump Administration’s rollback of agency regulations
  • Supreme Court decisions limiting judicial deference to agency interpretations
  • Executive Orders aimed at eliminating outdated regulations and accelerating agency guidance under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA)

The presentation will also outline how federal agencies are aligning with the administration’s agenda and examine Congressional proposals to expedite permitting for large-scale energy infrastructure projects. Special attention will be given to the compressed timelines for qualifying renewable energy tax credits under the OBBBA.

Peter Lowey will preside over Wednesday afternoon sessions, guiding discussions across several key topics affecting the industry.
