Nelson Mullins Partners to Present at iGaming NEXT Summit

Partners and members of the Nelson Mullins Gaming Group, Liz Donaldson, Tom Lee, and Daniel Lumm, will present at the iGaming NEXT Summit, known as the “biggest dedicated online gambling and sports betting summit in North America.” The gaming summit will be held in New York City from March 12-13.

Alongside each of their co-panelists, Donaldson, Lee, and Lumm, will take a deep dive into the gaming space from a legal aspect. Discussing relevant and timely topics, their panels will cover subjects related to payments and secure transactions, cost management, highly competitive markets, regulatory trends, important policy changes, crisis management for gaming operators, AI and privacy considerations, and much more.

Donaldson advises a variety of entities on financial regulatory and compliance matters, including state and federal consumer protection laws, regulation and licensing, anti–money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act compliance, and traditional and non–traditional lending. Relative to gaming, she works directly with operators to establish compliant funds flows and internal financial controls and helps forge partnerships between operators, fintechs, and financial institutions.

Lee focuses on the practice areas of government relations and public-facing litigation. With more than 40 years’ experience as an Emmy award-winning journalist, political strategist, lobbyist, and attorney, Tom is especially adept when conflict resolution requires awareness of policy, politics, and the press. Tom draws on his unique experience as a former sports betting regulator to advise clients in the gaming industry. He is also an adjunct professor of gaming law at Vanderbilt Law School.

Lumm practices in the areas of technology law, Internet, and privacy law. His primary focus is the representation of companies regarding commercial agreements, technology issues, privacy, and information management. Lumm frequently advises gaming operators and entities in a wide range of industries regarding application development, terms of service, privacy policies, online tracking, and identity management.  Lumm also serves as the Privacy Officer for Nelson Mullins and assists the firm in navigating the complex waters of data compliance and responding to client demands.

The NEXT Summit has been a popular event in the gaming community, selling out for the last three years to bring as many gaming professionals together as possible. Supporting opportunities for the online gaming community, the summit offers many different panels and a variety of networking events to further the gaming industry as a whole.
