Nelson Mullins partners Holly Hempel and Jeffrey Mapen will be speaking at a KPMG event in cooperation with Amcham Finland on Aug. 25 at the KPMG Helsinki office in Finland, but will be available for remote viewing. Their presentation, “What to Consider When Doing Business in the U.S.,” will have a focus on product liability.
Leading lawyers from around the world will examine the differing legal systems between the U.S. and Europe. Participants will share their insight on the considerations that are necessary to take into account when expanding into the U.S. market, or operating in the U.S. market in general. The speakers will also discuss some best practices and pitfalls of doing business with the U.S.
Hempel’s practice includes a wide range of experience working with and defending international companies with operations in the U.S. and with international offerings to U.S. customers. She has a specialized focus on defending manufacturers and distributors of products as well as defending vacation and leisure tour companies and resorts in wrongful death and personal injury cases.
Mapen’s practice includes experience in the areas of business litigation and product liability litigation, as well as experience representing domestic and international clients in a wide variety of complex business disputes from case inception through trial.
