Brook Andrews to Speak at the AHLA Fraud and Compliance Forum

Nelson Mullins Partner Brook Andrews will be speaking at the AHLA Fraud and Compliance Forum in Baltimore. His session, titled “Artificial Intelligence – And the Compliance and Enforcement Risks are Real / Controlling for the Human Factor in AI,” will explore the rapidly evolving role of AI in healthcare and the complex regulatory landscape surrounding it. Brook will be joined by Brandon Helms of Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman PC and Scott McBride of Morgan Lewis & Bockius for this important discussion.
The presentation will cover how AI is being used in healthcare, where regulation is lagging behind innovation, and the critical risk areas that compliance professionals need to monitor. Topics include coding, diagnosis, patient care implications such as ambient listening and authorizations, and enforcement concerns like privacy, deceptive marketing, and patient safety. The session will also offer practical guidance on establishing AI-specific compliance monitoring programs to demonstrate due diligence and avoid allegations of reckless disregard.
