Congress recently passed the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) of 2020, as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for the present fiscal year. This Act is a potential game-changer for enforcement and compliance and is the most significant anti-money laundering legislation passed in years. It contains new whistleblower awards and protections for clients, particularly represented financial institutions.
