MIAMI — Melissa Gomberg, partner at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP’s office in Miami, has been selected as a 2023 Latino Leadership Award winner from the Profiles in Diversity Journal. According to the publication, this award is given to those who “demonstrate talent and skill, a dedication to excellence in all they do, a willingness to mentor and support the next generation, and a commitment to the broader community.”
Gomberg is the co-chair of Unidos, Nelson Mullins’ Latinx affinity group. She has been focused on the recruitment, promotion, and retention of Latinx attorneys to further the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
She has helped the Latinx community in the greater Miami area through her pro bono work. Since 2019, Gomberg has been working with Legal Services of Greater Miami to help low-income clients settle landlord-tenant matters. She recruited members of Unidos to participate in Tenant’s Rights Clinics, assisting Latinx individuals previously displaced from their homes due to unprecedented rent increases.
Winners will be recognized in the first quarter 2023 issue by the Profile in Diversity Journal. The issue will be available online here at the end of March.
