Abstract: President Biden has set ambitious goals for a cleaner environment, calling for the end of carbon-based energy pro-duction by 2050. The United States is working to catch up with other nations in the development of greater capacity for energy produced by wind, and these initiatives give alternative fuel companies reason for hope. Offshore wind projects will be no easy lift for companies, however, as they must navigate a labyrinth of state and federal laws and regulations as well as local opposition. The purpose of this article is to examine the relevant laws and regulations that will come into play as companies try to advance businesses that produce energy from offshore wind.
