Experience

  • National coordinating counsel for a consumer products company for its talc liability.
  • Currently representing a chemical company in 1000+ asbestos products liability cases pending in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
  • Regularly represents businesses and individuals in state, local, and federal administrative proceedings and investigations, actions for judicial review, and appeals.
  • Significant experience litigating state and federal constitutional claims on both sides, having successfully represented private interests and defended state and local government agencies and personnel in a variety of constitutional claims involving standing, immunity, separation of powers, and governmental organization and procedures.
  • Significant experience litigating civil rights claims involving policing, employment, zoning, housing, and public accommodations.
  • Significant experience litigating inter- and intra-business disputes, including merger objections and related injunction and discovery proceedings, business breakups, derivative and direct D&O claims, class actions, and contractual disputes.
  • Briefed and argued a variety of state and federal appeals in the areas of products liability, class actions, administrative law, governmental liability and immunity, estates and trusts, business litigation, employment, and criminal law and procedure.
  • Member of appellate team that obtained reversal of death sentence and secured new trial (which resulted in acquittal) for a defendant convicted of capital murder.
