Nikki is a Senior Policy Advisor at EducationCounsel. Prior to joining EducationCounsel, Nikki served at the U.S. Department of Education for ten years, working across PK-12 and postsecondary education policy areas to ensure all students have equal access to a world-class education. Before joining the Department, she managed the education portfolio of Rhode Island’s statewide longitudinal integrated data system, leveraging student data to address pressing issues in education. 

Nikki began her career in the classroom as a traditionally certified middle school math teacher and has taught in three different countries. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education as a first-generation college student at the University of Georgia and her master’s degree in Urban Education Policy from Brown University.
