Debbie regularly advises profit and nonprofit entities regarding all types of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans and welfare benefit plans. She assists them with the development and continued maintenance of their employee benefit plans, including audits and the correction of plan qualification and fiduciary issues with the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor. She designs executive compensation plans and assists with individual compensation packages, including severance packages. She works hand in hand with third party administrators and assists employers with the negotiation of their third party administrator and trustee contracts.
Debbie also assists clients involved in mergers and acquisitions by analyzing the various benefit issues and liabilities in connection with that corporate restructuring. Included in that analysis are issues involving employee stock ownership plans, equity and non-equity incentive programs, and plan mergers, spin-offs and terminations. On the health and welfare benefit side, Debbie advises clients on ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA compliance, the implementation and maintenance of a wide variety of welfare benefit and fringe benefit plans, and privacy and security requirements and breaches.
Debbie’s clients include employers in all industries, nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, universities and colleges, and governmental entities.
