Anna focuses her practice on appellate advocacy and business litigation. Anna has prepared briefs for appeals before federal circuit courts, the Colorado Court of Appeals, and the Colorado Supreme Court. In her appellate practice, Anna draws on her work experience within appellate and trial courts. After law school, she clerked for two years with the Honorable Terry Fox of the Colorado Court of Appeals, where she worked directly with Judge Fox in drafting appellate opinions in civil and criminal matters. Additionally, Anna interned at the Colorado Supreme Court for Justice William W. Hood III and at the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Colorado for Judge Elizabeth Brown (retired). 

In her business litigation practice, Anna represents clients in a wide range of commercial and contractual disputes in state and federal courts and arbitration proceedings. She has experience in disputes related to trade secrets, non-competition and non-disclosure agreements, franchise, construction defects, commercial leases, title insurance, and corporate governance and shareholder issues. She also advises clients on matters concerning freedom of expression and defamation, including anti-SLAPP legislation, copyright and trademark issues. Anna enjoys working with clients on litigation strategy and focuses on drafting critical motions, including motions for preliminary injunction and motions for summary judgment, in case cases before trial courts and arbitrators.

Representative Matters

Appeals and Critical Motions

  • Obtained a preliminary injunction in the United States District Court of Colorado in a dispute involving state and federal trade secrets claims and claims under Colorado’s Non-Compete Statute. 
  • Drafted successful appellate briefs in case before the Colorado of Appeals holding that oil and gas lease automatically expired a decade prior and was not properly released by lessee.
  • Drafted appellate briefs in cases involving Colorado’s and Oregon’s anti-SLAPP statutes.
  • Obtained a preliminary injunction in a First Amendment case involving political speech.

Other Representative Experience

  • Represented limited liability company and members in a case involving claims for breach of contract and conversion. 
  • Represented operator and franchisor of national gym chain in a contract dispute with franchisor. 
  • Defended home builder in construction defects cases.  
  • As lead counsel, obtained successful outcome in a bench trial representing insured in title insurance action.
