Michael is a Florida Bar Board certified construction lawyer, having practiced exclusively in construction law and litigation for more than 30 years. Michael possesses deep experience in both the transactional and litigation sides of the industry, in the private and public sectors.
Michael's transactional experience ranges from routine design and construction contracts, to large–scale projects using advanced delivery methodologies, including construction management at risk and design–build. His subject matter experience includes multiple, large hospital campus projects, multi–family apartments and high–rises, hotels and resorts, commercial structures, and a broad range of public infrastructure work. His transactional experience carries through to project implementation, often counseling clients on issues arising during the course of construction.
On the dispute side, Michael possesses extensive jury trial experience in state and federal courts, and in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, as well as Federal Boards of Contract appeals. He focuses mostly on complex contract disputes, such as project impact and delay claims, project and product defect claims, design error and omissions, and payment disputes among project participants. The experience he has honed in years of litigation elevates the quality of work he performs on the transactional side, as it is often the core construction documents that are at issue in many cases.
Michael also serves clients as a valued advisor in all stages of project development, including project planning, selection of design professionals and contractors, and other construction–related business issues. His entire career has focused exclusively on the construction industry, a significant value–add to any client.
