Michael Hogue’s degree in chemical engineering prepared him for a legal practice that concentrates on scientific and technical issues in the defense of product liability cases involving pharmaceuticals, medical devices, toxic torts, chemicals, lithium ion batteries, and mechanical products. His work in complex products liability cases, including MDLs and coordinated state court proceedings often involves consultation with top experts in such fields as cancer research, oncology and hematology, neurology, epidemiology, biostatistics, pharmacology, and toxicology as well as materials engineering. Michael has served as a member of numerous trial teams for national litigation and bellwether trials, often in the role of a “science captain” responsible for marshaling the overall scientific, medical, and technical evidence into jury-friendly trial themes. Michael has also chaired and/or served on several national science teams for many different pharmaceutical products and chemicals in mass tort litigation.
