E4 Carolinas has chosen Columbia Partner Weston Adams to co-chair its task force to expand the clean energy organization's presence in South Carolina. E4 Carolinas' decision to expand is encouraged and supported by the South Carolina Clean Energy Business Alliance (SCCEBA), a longtime collaborator. Adams serves on the Board of Directors for both organizations.

“While E4 Carolinas’ larger mission continues to be the promotion of the broader energy economy of the Carolinas, the E4 Carolinas South Carolina Clean Energy Industries Task Force will focus on the promotion in South Carolina of energy generated from low carbon sources, such as renewables, hydrogen, and nuclear,” Adams said. “SCCEBA’s mission since 2010 has been exactly the same: growing South Carolina’s clean energy economy. Given the alignment between the mission of SCCEBA and that of the new E4 task force, the SCCEBA Board believes this is the right time to conclude its work so that clean energy stakeholders in South Carolina can focus their support on this new E4 Carolinas Task Force.”

The task force is charged with engaging, aligning, and promoting all South Carolina clean energy industries to attract and retain the foremost clean energy companies, innovators and leaders; to accelerate economic growth; to make efficient use of energy resources; and to care for our environment, resulting in increased employment, productivity, and prosperity.

Adams co-chairs Nelson Mullins' Energy Industry Group, practicing energy, environmental, and appellate law. Adams has been involved with E4 Carolinas since 2018, when he joined the board. E4 Carolinas, organized in 2012, is the trade association for Carolinas energy companies and organizations. SCCEBA will dissolve its South Carolina nonprofit corporate status on June 30. E4 Carolinas is now accepting membership from SCCEBA’s former members and others interested in growing South Carolina’s clean energy economy.
