He is the managing partner of the Charleston office and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. He has been involved with cutting edge trademark, domain name and copyright litigation, as well as actions brought at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and proceedings under the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).   His work in the area of strategic counseling involves advising clients on intellectual property matters, including the assignment, licensing and development of applications and other technology, as well as brand protection measures on the Internet and within online social media networks.

He has been active since 2009 with ICANN and in leadership with the Intellectual Property Constituency. In November 2021, he was appointed for the second two-year term as a councilor to Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) representing the Intellectual Property Constituency. The GNSO council is the policy-making body of ICANN, the not-for-profit partnership dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable, and interoperable. The 21 members of the council govern policy development within ICANN.
