Nelson Mullins’ Raul Valero Elected to Florida Atlantic University Foundation Board

BOCA RATON – The Florida Atlantic University Foundation, Inc. has elected Boca Raton attorney Raul Valero to serve on its board beginning July 1. Among other things, the Foundation connects private philanthropy with giving opportunities that advance Florida Atlantic University’s (FAU) mission and strategic plan.

“The Foundation Board enthusiastically approved Raul’s candidacy and is excited to benefit from his energy and perspective as an alumnus, a former student-athlete, and a rising leader in our community, said Stewart Martin, chair of the FAU Foundation. “We are extremely happy that he has chosen to give back to his alma mater in this way.”

Valero has deep ties within FAU and the local community. Serving on the board is yet another way that allows Valero to give back, he says.

“It was an honor to be voted onto the board by influential leaders within our local community. I appreciate the opportunity to serve, and I look forward to working with the board and university to advance FAU’s mission and strategic plan,” he said.

Valero graduated from FAU with a degree in Business Management and Marketing with a minor in History.  After attending FAU, Valero graduated from law school summa cum laude and went on to become an attorney with Nelson Mullins, focusing his practice on real estate transactions, commercial financing, and lending. He also has experience in complex commercial litigation, handling cases in both federal and state courts throughout the country.
