The U.S. News editorial team made selections for the list based on publicly available information, including employee sentiment, collected by data provider companies. Inspired by Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, the six metrics used to determine the best law firms for employees by U.S. News are:
- Belongingness and esteem
- Quality of pay and benefits
- Work/life balance and flexibility
- Job and company stability
- Physical and psychological comfort
- Career opportunities and professional development
The firm was awarded the highest possible score in the "belongingness and esteem" metric and scored a 3 out of 5 in all other categories.
