Nelson Mullins attorneys Michelle Yarbrough Korb, Nathan Kennedy, and paralegal Aimee Flint recently helped secure permanent financing with the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) for Cedarwood Homes, a 46-unit affordable housing community developed by Tryko Partners for seniors aged 62 and older.
Located in Pittsburgh’s Fairywood neighborhood, this community is made up of 39 low-income units and seven market rate units, each featuring its own front porch and in-unit laundry. The Cedarwood Homes community also provides easy access to public transportation, park-like green spaces, ample parking, and an onsite community building. The onsite community building is tailored towards the senior population and offers support services for residents, including health screenings and financial literacy, nutrition, and exercise programs.
Amid a shortage of affordable housing units in downtown Pittsburgh, this is a much-needed win for all parties involved that will provide relief for seniors in the community for years to come.
