Weston Adams and Craig Dillard won a significant Motion to Quash victory for Meta on July 10 at the Louisiana Public Service Commission (LPSC). Adams, who leads Nelson Mullins’ Energy Team, argued the Motion, with strategic advice from Dillard, Houston office managing partner, and with drafting assistance by Adams’ fellow Energy Team members Brandon Prince (Los Angeles) and Robert Josey (Raleigh).
The NGO Intervenors, the Union for Concerned Scientists and the Alliance for Affordable Energy, sought discovery of material related to Meta’s planned AI data center to be built in northeast Louisiana. Meta’s 3-Gigawatt AI data center will be the largest in the Western Hemisphere, and the largest data center in Meta’s worldwide system. The underlying LPSC matter through which Intervenors sought the Meta material is the ongoing LPSC approval proceeding for the utility Entergy’s construction of CCGT gas plants to power the data center.
Adams previously represented Meta in its negotiations with utility Entergy for the 3-Gigawatt power supply agreement for this data center, a deal Adams closed in October 2024 and amended in May of 2025, all with the assistance of fellow Energy Team members Prince, Josey, and Dan Simon (Charlotte).
