1. Describe how you feel about your career now that you’ve made partner.
Now is the time to double down on my professional strengths while at the same time working to help grow and advance the firm’s next generation of partners.
2. What are your key components to being successful in your career?
Enthusiasm, hard work, prompt communication, integrity, and inquisitiveness. Oh, and my loyal basset hound, Moose.
3. Who had the greatest influence in your career that helped drive you to partnership?
I’ve been lucky to count as friends some tremendous mentors as my career has progressed, but one in particular really rolled up his sleeves and taught me what it is to be an excellent corporate and securities lawyer.
4. What’s the best piece of advice you would give an associate who wants to make partner?
Don’t underestimate the potential impact of having a positive attitude. Working hard, producing high quality work, and being available are simply a given in this job, and assumed. Distinguish yourself by also exhibiting an interest in and enthusiasm about new assignments and the transactions that you work on.
