Larry Kristinik Elected Vice Chair of the ABA's Litigation Section

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Nelson Mullins Columbia partner Larry Kristinik has been elected vice chair of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Litigation Section. Kristinik will become chair-elect in 2023 and then serve as chair of the Litigation Section during the 2024-2025 bar year.

The Litigation Section has over 29,000 members nationwide and is a significant voice for litigators in the legal profession. The Section is one of the largest within the ABA and serves as the premier association for lawyers involved in litigation and trial practice. Its mission is to provide litigators of all practice areas the resources needed to become successful advocates. The Section is dedicated to upholding the rule of law and to offering its members opportunities for business networking and career advancement and a portfolio of professional and business development products.

Kristinik will lead the Litigation Section while working closely with the Section’s managing directors, staff, and hundreds of volunteer attorney leaders to improve the judicial system and access to justice, advance diversity in the profession and the independence of the judiciary, and continue efforts to provide valuable benefits to Section members, including the Section’s highly regarded publications and CLE conferences.

Kristinik’s practice focuses on business litigation, class action defense, insurance coverage and bad faith claims, and the defense of investor securities claims. He received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
