ORLANDO – Jo O. Thacker, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Orlando office, was recently recognized in the 2023 Florida Trend Legal Elite NOTABLE – Women Leaders in Law special section. As recognized leaders within their industry, these peer-nominated Women Leaders in Law are regarded for their leadership, vision, and ability to effect growth in the professional and civic organizations they serve.
Thacker represents the interests of property owners in front of local governments throughout Florida. She is a current member of the firm’s Executive Committee, setting firm policies and governance. She also assists the Orlando chapter of Nelson Mullins’ affinity group Women on the Go (WOGO), where she plays an active role in recruiting and retaining women attorneys and mentors them to continue advancing in their careers.
Before re-entering private practice, she served as the Osceola County Attorney for 13 years.
