The South Carolina Supreme Court recently appointed Nelson Mullins partner Jim Irvin to the South Carolina Access to Justice Commission to serve a three-year term. He will serve as the representative of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association. Irvin joins 24 other commissioners dedicated to the organization's mission of expanding access to civil legal assistance for low-income individuals and those in need across the state.
The South Carolina Access to Justice Commission is made up of judges, lawyers, legislators, court employees, and community leaders from across the state. The commission meets regularly to identify barriers to access to justice in South Carolina and explore possible solutions. It was established by the South Carolina Supreme Court in 2007.
Irvin is a Columbia-based litigator who focuses his practice in product liability, class action defense, and complex business litigation.
