Jeff Kelly Elected Chair of Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Board of Directors

Raleigh Partner Jeff Kelly has been elected chair of the Board of Directors for Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC), effective July 1, 2025. LANC is a statewide, nonprofit law firm that provides free legal assistance in civil cases to low-income Individuals and is one of the largest legal aid organizations in the country. Their mission is to ensure fair access to justice and eliminate legal obstacles that hinder economic opportunities.

Kelly has maintained a longstanding relationship with the organization, both as a pro bono volunteer and as a member of its leadership. Kelly played a key role in guiding LANC as it launched the nation’s first Legal Aid Innovation Lab, and he chairs the Innovation Lab’s Advisory Board. Since launching the Innovation Lab, LANC has grown its national partnerships and deployed sophisticated technology solutions, including the ethical implementation of AI in its delivery of legal services. Kelly has also served as a member of LANC’s Board of Directors since 2022.

Kelly focuses his practice on emerging technology, particularly in areas involving data analytics, artificial intelligence, digital assets, and FinTech. He works closely with entrepreneurs and companies to effectively navigate changing regulations, government investigations, and complex challenges in corporate and securities law.
