Jeff Kelly Appointed as Fellow of Duke Center on Law & Tech

Raleigh associate Jeff Kelly has been appointed as a Fellow of Duke University School of Law’s Center on Law & Technology (DCLT).

DCLT is a center at the Duke University School of Law with the goal, according to its website, of preparing students for the growing landscape of technology in the legal profession through collaboration with Duke’s innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives, engagement with local entrepreneurs, and by providing educational opportunities at the intersection of technology and the law. Its initiatives aim to understand, reimagine, shape, and lead the next generation of tech-enabled legal practice. With this as a guiding principle, DCLT's projects focus on the accessibility of technology, data governance, digital governance, and the design of legal solutions.

As a DCLT Fellow, Kelly will work with the center to facilitate projects leveraging technology and design to serve unmet legal needs, with a particular emphasis on North Carolina communities and initiatives.

Kelly focuses his practice at the intersection of complex litigation, emerging technology, and outside corporate counsel services. He serves as the Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association Future of Law Committee, which is charged with tracking, analyzing, and contextualizing the impact of leading edge technology on the practice of law and delivery of legal services. Kelly is also an advisor to the North Carolina State Bar's Issues Subcommittee Studying Regulatory Reform, which is charged with assessing innovations and regulatory trends designed to increase access to legal services.
