BOCA RATON – Nelson Mullins’ Boca Raton attorney Jamie Gelfman has earned board certification in Health Law by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization & Education. Certification identifies Gelfman as a “lawyer with special knowledge, skills, and proficiency, as well as a reputation for professionalism and ethics,” according to the Board.

Gelfman represents healthcare providers and suppliers in a variety of regulatory, compliance, reimbursement, and licensure matters. She is also certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Compliance Certification Board. Active in the Florida Bar Health Law Section, she serves on its Executive Council and serves as the editor-in-chief of the Florida Bar Health Law Updates, among other positions. She earned her JD from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Certification is a voluntary program for lawyers, approved by The Florida Supreme Court and administered by The Florida Bar. It is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in the areas of law approved for certification. To become certified, lawyers must receive a passing grade on the examination required of all applicants or meet strict criteria to exempt the exam before officially earning board certification. They must also satisfy a peer review assessment of their competence in the specialty field and show character, ethics, and professionalism in the practice of law.
