HCCA Conference Chaired by Gabe Imperato to be Held in Fort Lauderdale

The Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) will host its Board & Audit Committee Compliance Conference on Feb. 24-25 in Fort Lauderdale for the first time, home to a diverse and self-sufficient healthcare market along with the rest of South Florida. This is one of the only conferences planned for board members of healthcare organizations that focuses on their responsibilities for compliance oversight.

Nelson Mullins Fort Lauderdale Managing Partner Gabe Imperato is conference chair of the event and a past president of the HCCA. Nashville Partner Roy Wyman will speak on cybersecurity issues, and Imperato will give the Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Update.

Among the top-notch healthcare professionals and high-profile government officials slated to speak at the conference are Linda Epstein, General Counsel of Broward Health; Greg Demske, Chief Counsel to the Inspector General of Health and Human Services; Felicia Heimer of the U.S. Office of Counsel to the Inspector General; Allan Medina of the U.S. Department of Justice; James Sheehan, Chief of the Charities Bureau for the New York Attorney General; and Matthew Whitmire, Director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for the Indiana Attorney General.

The HCCA was founded in 1996 and serves more than 12,000 members with the intention of enabling lasting success and integrity in the healthcare industry. The Board & Audit Committee Compliance Conference will educate healthcare board members, board audit/compliance committee members, and senior-level leaders of organizations on compliance oversight laid out by the Office of Inspector General of Health and Human Services.
