Greenville Chamber Honors David Wilkins with 2018 Chairman's Award

The Greenville Chamber of Commerce honored partner David Wilkins with the 2018 Chairman's Award at the organization's 130th Annual Meeting on Feb. 21. Wilkins was chosen for the award because of his dedication to the region, state, and nation, and his leadership in voicing the Chamber's advocacy efforts.

"I was proud to be a member of the Greenville Chamber team, and no matter where my career and travels have taken me, one of the greatest blessings of my life is to call Greenville, SC home," Wilkins said. "So to be recognized with the 2018 Chairman’s Award for advocating on behalf of a community that has given me so much is extra special and is truly humbling. I am grateful to the Greenville Chamber and thank them for all they do to make our community thrive.”

Before his appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Wilkins served in the South Carolina House of Representatives for 25 years – 11 as speaker – and practiced law for 34 years in Greenville. Since returning to practice in the Palmetto state, he has been very involved in Greenville's evolution. Over the last decade, Wilkins has been routinely named one of Greenville Business Magazine's 50 Most Influential People.

Wilkins chairs the public policy and international law practice group with a special focus in U.S.-Canada interests. His practice areas include federal government strategies, government relations, and international relations and sovereign government advocacy, and he has experience working with clients in the energy and utilities industry.
