MIAMI — Nelson Mullins partner Dan Newman was awarded the Thomas Davison III Memorial Service Award at the 2023 University of Miami Law Association’s Homecoming Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 28 during the university’s law alumni homecoming festivities.

The Thomas Davison III Memorial Service Award is a special recognition as it honors an individual who demonstrates extraordinary service and dedication to make a difference in the University of Miami School of Law. The award was created in honor and memory of former President of the Law Alumni Association and University of Miami Trustee, Thomas Davison III, who was an admired and dedicated volunteer to the school. Newman graduated from the university's law school in 1991 and previously served as president of the university’s law alumni association.

Newman focuses his practice at Nelson Mullins on securities-related litigation and regulatory enforcement. His litigation practice includes cases involving commercial torts, contracts, shareholder derivative actions, class actions, and common law and statutory securities fraud actions. He began his career with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement.
