WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --   North Carolina Lawyers Weekly has chosen Nelson Mullins Winston-Salem Office Managing Partner Denise M. Gunter for a 2022 Leaders in the Law Award, which recognizes attorneys from across the Tar Heel State who have achieved success in their law practice, made contributions to society, and had an impact on the legal profession.

She has served as Office Managing Partner of the Winston-Salem office since its inception in 2003.  Gunter has more than two decades of experience representing clients in a variety of antitrust matters. She represents clients in civil and criminal antitrust litigation and government investigations and advises clients on pricing, distribution, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and Hart-Scott-Rodino premerger notification filings. Though her antitrust experience covers a variety of industries, she has a particular focus on healthcare antitrust matters and regularly advises healthcare providers on antitrust issues affecting their operations.

In addition to her antitrust experience, Gunter has broad–based litigation experience including certificate of need litigation, business disputes, and medical staff litigation.  In addition to serving as the Office Managing Partner for Winston-Salem, Gunter is also a member of the Firm’s nine-member Executive Committee.  

Winners will be recognized at a ceremony in Greensboro on April 14, 2022.
