ATLANTA -- Michael Hollingsworth II, managing partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Atlanta office, has been appointed by the Tulane University president to serve on the President’s Council. Hollingsworth is an alumnus of the university. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Tulane in 1992.
Hollingsworth began his renewable four-year term on July 1.
Members of the President’s Council serve as advisors to Tulane’s president and senior administrators. Council members will be diverse both geographically and professionally, and will advise on issues relating to university policies, activities, programs, and future goals.
Hollingsworth recently finished his term as the chair of the Tulane Fund Advisory Board (TFAB). The TFAB’s mission is to advise and strengthen the Tulane Fund, which consists of the annual giving program, the reunion giving program, and the Associates Gift Club.
He is co-head of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group and its Investment Management Group. He focuses on middle-market corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. He also serves on Nelson Mullins’ Executive Committee, the governing body of nine partners who oversee firm standing committees, strategic initiatives, and firm operations.
