Atlanta Bar Association Litigation Section Elects Amy B. Cheng as its First AAPI Chair

Atlanta Litigation Partner, Amy B. Cheng, has been elected as the 2025-2026 Atlanta Bar Association Litigation Section Chair. Cheng will be the first Asian American and Pacific Islander to serve in this role.

Cheng will start her a one-year term, beginning on June 1. This is a milestone moment for Cheng, who has been part of the ABA Litigation Section for nearly 10 years and has held every position within the Section, including acting as Vice Chair of the Section while concurrently acting as President of the Association from 2023-2024.

“I am excited to lead one of the largest and most prestigious sections in the Association. We are fortunate to have so much engagement from our members - senior lawyers, judges and government officials – which makes the Litigation Section unique,” Cheng said. "As a litigator, this Section and its members have been crucial to my success of being an effective advocator for my clients.”

Cheng is an experienced litigator who helps clients from early-stage startups to multinational corporations in healthcare and other industries with employment, commercial, white-collar, and government investigations matters. She regularly advises clients on critical business matters including employment agreements and regulations, termination and grievance procedures, state and federal agency charges, breach of contract, and tortious claims. She brings a business-savvy approach to assisting clients in mitigating and managing risks, and when disputes arise, she draws on her significant trial experience to advocate for her clients both in settlement negotiations and in the courtroom.
