Atlanta Attorneys Chosen as 2019 Georgia Trailblazers

Daily Report

ATLANTA (October 2, 2019) – The Daily Report has chosen Jeong-Hwa “June” Lee and Amanda Norcross, both partners in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s Atlanta office, as 2019 Georgia Trailblazers. The award recognizes “attorneys who have moved the needle in the legal industry,” according to the publication.

Lee is the leader of Nelson Mullins’ International and Immigration team and Korea Practice. She provides business-oriented practical legal counsel on matters ranging from first-time operations in the U.S., compliance with government and industry regulations, continuing operations, growth strategies and litigation management. She helps them with a wide range of matters including site selection, incentive negotiations, M&A, joint venture, business contracts, and global mobility matters for these international companies. She often acts as her clients’ outside general counsel.

Lee founded the Korean American Bar Association of Georgia five years ago to mentor young minority attorneys, noting the absence of mentors for diverse young attorneys. She has also started an internship program for law students from Korea.

Norcross concentrates her practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions. Her experience spans a number of industries from human capital management, healthcare and healthcare technology, medical device, manufacturing, business services, technology, building products and consumer products.

Norcross chairs the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Merger and Acquisitions group. In addition, she and Rhys Wilson established the firm’s M&A Externship Program in 2018 that provides 2L and 3L students from the University of Georgia School of Law with work experience in mergers and acquisitions for academic credit. During the fall and spring semesters, externs work side by side with Atlanta attorneys from Nelson Mullins’ Corporate Group and gain exposure to the entire M&A process as they become involved in a variety of matters related to a transaction. Externs must have an expressed interest in the advancement of under-represented lawyers in the M&A field.

Established in 1897, Nelson Mullins has more than 800 attorneys and government relations professionals with offices in 11 states and Washington, DC.  For more information on the firm, go to www.nelsonmullins.com
