Vaccine Mandate Skirts Physician Practices But May Cover Some Employees

In a Part B News story looking at the implications of a federal vaccine mandate on physician practices, partner Patricia A. Markus explains the nuances of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ interim final rule and its impact to physician practices and those contracted providers working in facilities with 100 or more employees: “If you’re a private practice physician and you perform surgery at an ambulatory surgery center, or if you’re a medical director at a dialysis facility or a skilled nursing facility, or if you otherwise visit or contract with a covered facility, in all of those cases, you’re a physician who is going onsite to a capital-F facility as defined in the interim final rule.”
