Atlanta partner Erika C. Birg tells Law360 Pulse and Law.com that she will spearhead a new alternative dispute resolution (ADR) group at Nelson Mullins. Joining her efforts are Atlanta partners Marquetta Bryan, Taylor Tapley Daley, Andrew Rosenzweig, and Mark VanderBroek. Of counsel Charles T. Huddleston is also set to join the ADR group.
Birg states that the group looks to serve Georgia and Florida businesses in need of neutrals to assist in resolving business disputes outside the courtroom, while still making a point to focus on the need for cost-effective options.
“We saw a need in the marketplace for litigators who understand what other litigators are going through when they’re in the midst of a bet-the-company litigation or a hotly contested business dispute,” Birg told Law360 Pulse.
"We found that there was too much pressure on mediators who mediate all the time to move quickly," Birg told Law.com.
