In an article posted by the Daily Report on Law.com on June 19, 2023, Nelson Mullins partner William "Billy" Ching was featured in a Q&A. In late April, the Daily Report awarded Ching the award in the category of Most Effective Dealmakers as a part of the inaugural Southeastern Legal Awards.

Ching leads the Nelson Mullins Private Equity Practice Group, where he counsels companies and their owners, private equity funds, and venture capital funds in a wide array of, buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, equity financings, and complex corporate matters. He joined Jeffrey Kelly, Denise M. Gunter, Donna Tillis, and John D. Martin, who also won their respective categories at the awards.

According to the newspaper, the awards program previously known as the Georgia Legal Awards, was expanded in 2023 to include Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. ALM Media, publisher of The Daily Report, operates newspapers in the southeastern states of Florida and Georgia.
