How the Carolinas could come together on energy market changes

Charlotte Business Journal

In a webinar organized by Columbia partner Weston Adams and sponsored by Nelson Mullins, S.C. Sen. Tom Davis and N.C. Rep. Larry Strickland discussed efforts among legislators to bring about wholesale energy market reform in the Carolinas. Such reform could include establishing a regional transmission organization, an energy imbalance market, or other market alternatives that could significantly reduce wholesale energy prices for large energy users in the Carolinas. Other participants in the webinar included Kevin Martin, executive director of the Carolina Utility Customers Association, Inc.

Adams co-chairs the Nelson Mullins Energy Industry Group and practices energy and environmental law. He also serves on the Board of Directors of E4 Carolinas, and co-chairs E4’s SC Clean Energy Industries Task Force.
