The article focuses on the efforts of historic building owners to secure tax breaks amid skepticism from policymakers and the public, who question whether such incentives are justified.

“The incentive for people to preserve beautiful, historical buildings still exists,” Taylor said. “However, I think we will continue to see the IRS challenge the valuation of these donations, as it has done for nearly every easement donation over the past several years."
