Law 360 interviewed Miami office managing partner Mark Raymond on the busy Florida legal market based on an influx of people and businesses into the state. Raymond says managing partners will have to worry about attorney burnout in the coming year.
Raymond said that, with as much business as there is in the state, attorneys are operating over capacity and that firms would have to make adjustments so as not to overburden their staff.
One less obvious challenge in 2022, Raymond said, will be ensuring that his attorneys are mindful of issues that company general counsels or chief legal officers are dealing with in the upcoming year.
"You've got to be cognizant of ... the considerations that are important to them and ... the pressures that are being brought to bear on them from their CEO," Raymond said. "Because if you're insensitive to the impacts on them, you're not going to be giving them all of the service and proper attention they require."
