Board Certified Appellate Practice Specialists Martin Warf and Lorin Lapidus authored the article, “Discretion’s Day—How To Prepare an Attractive Petition for Discretionary Review at the North Carolina Supreme Court.” The article explains recent statutory changes affecting appellate review in North Carolina. The publication delves into the importance of crafting an attractive petition for discretionary review (PDR) since the automatic right to review based solely on a dissenting opinion at the N.C. Court of Appeals was eliminated from state law in late 2023.
