Crypto Market Is Celebrating SEC’s Setback in Ripple Suit. But the Case Is Far from Settled

Richard Levin, Chair of Nelson Mullins’ FinTech and Regulation Practice, was recently quoted in an article by BNN Bloomberg that discussed the ruling in the Ripple Labs lawsuit, which raises questions about the legal status of digital assets and when they are securities.
Levin noted, “We have to remember that this is just one judge’s application of the facts and circumstances to the applicable law, not precedent for other cases in which the facts and circumstances may be different, and where the judge may have a different interpretation of the law.”
