Charlotte IP Partner Susan Jackson Named to Business North Carolina’s 2024 Power List

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Susan Jackson, Intellectual Property attorney and Managing Partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Charlotte office, has been named to Business North Carolina magazine’s Power List 2024.

Recognized as a “Patent Star” for multiple consecutive years by Managing Intellectual Property Magazine, by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly as a “Leader in the Law” and as the 2023 “Lawyer of the Year,” Susan represents large corporations and middle market companies to protect and manage their most important IP assets and ideas. Her intellectual property practice focuses on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and unfair competition, as well as client counseling, licensing, and opinion work. She places particular emphasis on patent and trademark portfolio management, preparation and prosecution.

With a degree in chemical engineering, Susan leverages her experience in chemical and materials-related inventions in the areas of specialty chemicals, chemistry, additives, surfactants, pigments, antimicrobials, energy, fuel cells, materials, textiles, films, fibers, nonwovens, polymers, bioengineering, and medical devices.

Susan also has experience in patent preparation and prosecution for mechanical and computer software-related inventions and advises companies across various industries including motorsports and other sports teams/professionals on intellectual property matters such as branding, trademarks, and licensing.
