Auto Lenders, Dealers Draw More Scrutiny After Pandemic-era Boom

American Banker, a publication that covers ideas, issues, and news surrounding the banking industry, spoke with Nelson Mullins partner Jody Porter regarding the level of scrutiny the auto-lending industry and auto industry is currently facing from regulatory agencies.

Porter told American Banker that the auto industry is facing “more collaboration and communication” across organizations that oversee the industry. A partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office, she spent nearly 30 years of her career with Toyota Motor North America, including a role as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel over business and product liability litigation.

“We expect to see that continued coordination throughout 2023,” Porter told the publication.
