Nelson Mullins partner Robert Klingler was recently quoted in an American Banker article.
The article discussed banks continuing to face challenges due to pandemic-era bond investments, impacting the profitability of lenders with low-yielding portfolios. Although the situation is not as dire as it was in March and April, surviving banks are now concerned about the extent to which their profitability will be affected, rather than the risk of bank failures.
“Fundamentally, it is a math problem. Do you take less capital now in exchange for increased earnings going forward, or do you have to sacrifice those future earnings to maintain the regulatory capital today?" Robert said to American Banker.
Robert advises financial institutions and investors in financial companies on strategic corporate transactions. His practice often involves the implementation of creative solutions to address regulatory, investors, tax, and corporate needs.
