Ambassador David Wilkins appeared on Fox Business' Mornings with Maria to discuss the upcoming ratification of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), a trade deal among the three countries that aims to increase environmental and labor regulations and incentivizes the domestic production of cars and trucks.
Wilkins, Nelson Mullins partner, told Fox News that the deal is hugely important and timely. "Well, we need to get it done. Canada and the U.S., for example, have the largest trade relationship the world has ever known," he said. "I think there's $1.7 billion worth of trade and services every day going on between our two countries."
Wilkins also discussed the potential for job creation and the role Canada plays in the North American energy industry. Wilkins served as U.S. Ambassador to Canada from June 2005 to January 2009 under the Bush administration.
