Ambassadors Roundtable at the PNWER Summit
PNWER Annual Summit
Greenville partner David Wilkins spoke at the 32nd Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER) Annual Summit in an ambassador’s roundtable alongside former Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. Gary Doer and former U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Jacobson. The panel was moderated by Scotty Greenwood, CEO of the Canadian American Business Council.
The PNWER Annual Summit is a leading forum where people in policy and business collaborate to strategize and discuss solutions to regional challenges. Wilkins and the group of ambassadors focused on the importance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and how the relationship between the United States and Canada is pivotal in the economic and political stability in North America and throughout the world.
The panel also expounded on a wide range of topics impacting both nations including serious competition with China, critical minerals, the upcoming U.S. presidential election, energy, and food security.
Wilkins chairs the Nelson Mullins public policy and international law practice group with a special focus on U.S.-Canada interests. He proudly served as U.S. ambassador to Canada from June 2005 to January 2009, appointed by President George W. Bush.
