We Are NM – High Potentials: Raul Valero
Raul Valero is a member of the firm’s Florida real estate team based in Boca Raton. He represents developers, investors, owners, landlords, tenants, borrowers, and lenders across a broad spectrum of commercial real estate transactions. He is part of the Florida Atlantic University Foundation’s Board of Directors, serving as the Foundation’s philanthropy chair. A member of the High Potentials Program class of 2025, Raul earned his JD from Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad College of Law.
Why did you select your practice area?
I have always enjoyed working on business deals and helping people find solutions to reach their goals. Real estate was a natural fit because it combines law, business, and results you can actually see in the community. The practice is also relationship driven. Most of my work is with repeat clients who place their trust in me for deal after deal, and that trust is something I value and take pride in.
Can you tell us about your family background and how it has influenced your life and career choices?
My family and athletics both played a big role for me growing up. Playing Division I sports taught me discipline, resilience, and how to perform under pressure. Those lessons carry into my practice today, whether it is staying calm in high-pressure situations or negotiations, putting in the work every day, or keeping a team-first mindset.
What do you hope to accomplish in the High Potentials Program?
My goal is to come out of the program with new tools for developing and strengthening client relationships. I want to learn from colleagues across the firm and bring those perspectives back into my practice. Gaining those insights will help me see challenges and opportunities from new angles, and I also want to share what I learn with others, whether it is clients, peers, or the next generation of attorneys coming up behind me.
