What To Do When the Feds Come Knocking

Registration for this event is open only to ACC SC members and prospective members

Hosted by: Association of Corporate Counsel, South Carolina Chapter

Charleston partner Matt Austin and Matthew Latrick, Regional Counsel for the Americas for Morgan Advanced Materials will present, “What To Do When the Feds Come Knocking,” at the South Carolina Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (ACC SC) Annual Meeting on Sept. 14, in Columbia, South Carolina.

During the presentation, the pair will discuss what federal agencies would be in play in these instances, when and how an investigation of this nature would be initiated, how to identify qualified counsel, determining the scope of the investigations, how to prepare and develop a plan, and much more.

Austin served as an assistant United States attorney for seven years, prosecuting complex white-collar crimes. He routinely provides guidance to elected officials, corporate executives, and ultra-high net worth individuals navigating complex, high-stakes situations including government investigations and indictments, whistleblower complaints, and internal investigations.

Latrick has gained legal experience working within law firms but currently serves as in-house counsel for Morgan Advanced Materials. Managing legal issues for the company across North America, Central America, and South America, Latrick focuses on legal matters dealing with compliance, commercial negotiations, environmental, and much more.

The ACC SC is a “by in-house counsel, for in-house counsel” organization dedicated to serving members in South Carolina’s upstate, midlands, and low country regions. Through different educational opportunities and social programs, members are better able to continue their education and connect with their community. The one-day annual meeting for the chapter takes place every fall and will take place at Central Energy in Columbia's Bull Street District this year. The meeting will also offer eight hours of Continuing Legal Education for attending attorneys.

Registration for this event is open only to ACC SC members and prospective members.
